When students who completed the ACE Mentor Program were asked this past summer what they would change about the program, we heard “expand the program; offer to more student[s] in more schools.” We want to reach more students in more schools, but we cannot do it without the support of our mentors and mentoring firms. Plans are currently underway to expand. We are evaluating student demand in new locations and hope to have up to a total of five teams this year.  John Jay HS and Thomas Jefferson HS will continue to be part of the ACE Program and are already showing an outpouring of student interest and support from returning students. We also have students signing up to be part of ACE because of the positive impact mentors had on their older siblings.

As you have the opportunity, encourage your co-workers to participate as mentors, tell colleagues about the students, remind others of how the ACE Program positively impacts our youth. The construction industry is your industry and by sharing your knowledge with high school students that have an interest in your career, you can help guide them and empower them to make the right decisions about their future. If you would like more information about ACE, our new brochure is attached or you can visit us at www.acementor.org.
